Jakob was able to get a comprehensive look into the stair building process, during his two-week internship in July. The goal was to accompany one stair from drawing to assembly. This was accomplished with the production of a classic wood staircase with stringers.
Jakob had the opportunity to assist during different stages of production. He was able to gain experience in the milling of standard parts (treads, risers, stringers) as well as special parts (treads with bullnose profile, posts, and balusters) on the CNC machine. Furthermore, he loaded plates onto the machine, position the vacuum cups, and helped with the cleaning and maintenance of the CNC.
