Enhancements to HPL Angled Clamping: Greater Flexibility and Precision

Our software now offers enhanced features for HPL stairs, available to all customers using the Angled Clamping option.

These updates enable more efficient design processes and precise manufacturing results.

HPL Stair Compass Software

1. HPL stringer fixation bracket

We have extended the functionality of the fixation bracket at the stair exit. Previously the bracket could only be used on the front edge of the stringer. To provide greater stability for thin HPL stringers, the bracket can now be applied laterally to secure the stringer to the ceiling edge.

Additional features in the drilling pattern provide greater flexibility:

  • New positions: tread side and non-tread side.
  • Placement methods: directly in the height construction, via the stringer-wall/well-front drilling pattern or using the predefinition settings.

Angles are displayed in both the floor plan and the height construction, ensuring accurate planning.

2. Shortest distance to front edge of tread

To improve the positioning of double angles, angle clamping and threaded angle clamping, we have introduced the Shortest Distance feature. This improvement prevents cramping from moving out of the tread on winded stairs and ensures consistent positioning.

3. Drilling threaded stringers

We have also added updates for the RCD staircase system. In order to make the bolts invisible and at the same time fix them securely to the wall, we have added the function of drilling in threaded stringers.

  • The drilling pattern is stored in the stringer template.
  • The post-processor automatically activates the thread cutting cycle for HPL connectors.
  • The machine mills or cuts the threading directly into the bolt drilling.

This automation saves time and reduces labour.

4. HPL Stringer Clamping - customisable, flexible and precise

The new HPL Stringer Bracket offers maximum flexibility in design and application, providing several new possibilities:

 

Customise parameters freely:

  • Precisely define dimensions, angles, drilling positions and additional parameters such as threads and countersunk holes.
  • Fixed values ensure that the angle bracket conforms to pre-defined specifications, ideal for ordering the bracket as standard stock.
  • Flexible parameters allow dimensions and angles to adapt dynamically to the design, creating custom-made HPL stringer cramping.

 

Visual control in 3D

To avoid input errors, check your inputs effortlessly with visual control in the 3D view:

  • Fixed values are displayed precisely, providing an accurate preview.
  • Flexible values are shown as realistic but not exact, simplifying the input of more complex fittings.

 

Versatile placement options

The HPL stringer bracket can be positioned in various ways:

  • On the tread or non-tread side.
  • As a connection in the stringer extension when using it as a distance from the wall.
  • As a wall anchor to secure the structure to fixed components.
  • In the floor plan, the angle can be placed as a corner connection.

 

Editing functions

Convenient functions are available in the height construction and 3D Plus:

  • You can use the right-click menu to delete or change the properties of individual angles.
  • These functions allow targeted editing, even when angles overlap in the plan and are difficult to select.

 

Streamlined production process

Designed HPL stringer cramping can be easily processed for production:

  • Export them as DXF files.
